As an entrepreneur, you’re no stranger to a busy schedule. Between bookkeeping, sales calls, and project management, there’s never a shortage of things to do on your list. And when it comes to productivity, you’re always looking for new ways to get the job done quickly. Fortunately, we’ve gathered a list of our favorite productivity tools for busy entrepreneurs.
From organizing your tasks and connecting with clients, you’ll have everything you need to save time (and your sanity). So take a look and see which platforms you can test out this week!
Fans of taking notes will love Evernote, a note-taking and task-management app. This platform allows you to create lists, adding due dates and reminders, so you’re never left thinking, “Oh crap…I completely forgot about that.” We’ve all been there; luckily, Evernote can stop that sinking feeling before it hits! You can use the app to upload photos, save links, and add files, helping you rest easy knowing nothing will fall through the cracks — even when your schedule is overwhelming.
Those who love goal setting will love the Strides app. We use this platform to track our goals and habits under one roof. With four types of trackers, you can choose the best format for your entrepreneurial brain. Daily goals help you stay focused, while their step-by-step process makes long-term goal setting easy. So give it a shot if you want to set goals you’ll actually stick to this time!
Calling all list makers — if you’re continuously checking things off your to-do list, Todoist is the app for you. More than just jotting down random tasks inside your notebook, this platform sorts your tasks into “Today” and “Upcoming,” so you no longer miss important dates. We love that you can also break each task into subtasks, making completing projects easier.
Raise your hand if you have an inbox that one would describe as pure chaos. *raises hand* If yours is up, we’re right there with ya! Lucky for us, we found Clean Email, which helps us manage our inbox by reading and moving emails to our chosen folders. So, should clutter be your worst enemy, give this platform a try.
Ever want to send something to a client or team member and end up typing a pages-long email you’re sure they won’t read? Loom can help with that. A free screen recorder, this software allows you to talk through your projects and pages without typing anything out. You can share your thoughts, and viewers can comment on each video, allowing you to further your collaborative efforts.
If you manage multiple projects and clients, ClickUp is a must-have tool. With customization at the forefront, ClickUp allows you to create workflows that work best for you and your entire team. Tag people in comments, upload files, track time, and more with this all-in-one project management software. We’re big fans of ClickUp and use it to manage all our projects (and keep clients happy along the way)!
Juggling between email, text, and Voxer can get confusing. That’s why we love using Slack — a popular collaboration platform that puts all your communications under one umbrella. You can upload documents, set reminders, and use bots to send automated messages (think: daily check-ins or fun prompts for engagement). It also fits with apps like Google Drive and Dropbox, uniting all your platforms and making it easy to share things.
Spreadsheet lovers who haven’t tried Airtable will want to add this spreadsheet-database hybrid to their list of must-have apps. Collecting and organizing data is made easy with Airtable’s pre-made templates. Customization is also key, with multiple views to choose from, and comments allow you to communicate with clients and team members daily. Plus, it’s easy to use, so you won’t have to spend hours figuring this tool out!
Calendly is a fantastic tool for entrepreneurs who constantly find themselves scheduling (then rescheduling) meetings. Connect this app to your preferred calendar and simply send people your link — they’ll use it to schedule an appointment quickly and easily. With Calendly, you no longer have to go back and forth over email to find a time that works.
Still sending sensitive contracts over email? Try using Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign). This tool allows you to send contracts and securely gather signatures — simply create and send your contract and let Dropbox Sign alert you when it’s complete. We love that Dropbox Sign stores all documents in our account, so we don’t have to wonder whether or not we sent something or where we uploaded it.
Android users, we’re sorry to leave you hanging — but for those with an iPhone, we highly recommend taking advantage of the reminders app on your device. We find phone reminders incredibly helpful when we’re in a pinch and don’t have access to our desktops. Simple and easy, but they always get the job done!
Tracking your time is one of the best things you can do to better determine your pricing and charge what you’re worth. At Lantern Room Creative, we prefer Toggl, which integrates with ClickUp and allows us to track our time by project. This way, we can see how much time is spent on each client and adjust our workloads accordingly.
A classic — Google Docs, we love ya. Rather than exchanging PDFs or documents over email, Google Docs will help you and your team seamlessly collaborate. Leave comments, add users to documents, and edit to your heart’s content. If you’re not already using Google Drive to house your projects, now’s the time to start!
Where would we be without Grammarly? Probably using too much passive voice and sitting on a bed full of typos. With all of the copy we’re writing, we’re not sure we’d make it through the day without Grammarly. We highly recommend this tool for entrepreneurs who want to impress clients right off the bat with mistake-free copy. Keep things clean and grammatically correct with an app that analyzes your copy and makes sure it’s ready to go.
Not a graphic designer but need high-quality designs? We feel you there. And it’s why we love Canva so much. Simply grab one of their templates and say goodbye to hours spent trying to figure out how the heck Photoshop works. Instead, you can add users to teams, collaborate on designs, and comment back and forth. It’s easy to use and makes all the difference regarding your visual brand!
With the above productivity tools, you can put efficiency at the forefront and know you’re not wasting time you don’t have. Did we miss any of your favorites? Drop them in a comment below or share them with us on Instagram!
